Bio: Jason Morriss was born in 1971 and raised in Springfield, Missouri. He attended the University of Missouri receiving a B.S. in nursing. After which he practiced three years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1997 he and his wife Sarah sold most everything they had and moved to Arkansas to homestead a piece of land. They now have a very productive garden, a modest solar home, various animals, and two beautiful children; Rainer, 7, and Zac, 3. Inspired by his experience making wooden sword replicas and by puzzle maker Stewart Coffin, he decided to try his hand at three dimensional geometric dissections and found he had a knack for it. "I feel the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to share some of my creativity with others and I hope people will get as much enjoyment and challenge in it as I do."
Bio: Rick Pruden was born on November 6, 1976 and moved to the Ozarks as a young boy. He attended Rural Special School from grade school to high school. He first found his love for wood by getting a degree in forestry. After several years of doing urban forestry work, he switched to working in a cabinet shop to get more hands on woodworking experience. After that, he went on to train under and work for accomplished woodworkers Hollow Earth Wood Works under Steven Archote. After four years he and Jason Morris built their own shop, still supplying Hollow Earth Sword Works but now focusing on the development and creation of puzzles, games, and toys.
Mission Statement: To develop wood puzzles, games and toys that are pleasing to the eye, fun to play with, and a healthy mental exercise. It is our goal to produce quality items using mostly resalvaged or dead harvest woods or locally obtained hard woods.
